Wrap the Gap supports Aboriginal and at-risk children who have developmental delays or learning difficulties due to hearing problems. The program brings together specialists in childhood development across hearing, speech pathology, and occupational therapy to help children succeed at school.
This service combines on-the-ground treatment and telehealth to provide holistic support tailored to each child’s unique developmental needs. Our audiologists handle hearing care end-to-end, while speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists deliver therapeutic sessions building communication, motor skills, and emotional wellbeing. We build capacity in the communities we serve by coaching and providing professional education and skills to teachers, educators, playgroup facilitators, and others who work with children.
We also partner directly with local playgroups, early learning centres, and schools to share practical strategies with teachers so that support continues seamlessly in the classroom. Our goal is to walk alongside families, close developmental gaps early, and set children up to listen well, learn well, and live well.
