The Ear Health Ambassadors (EHA) program seeks to empower Aboriginal students in WA schools to share practical ear health knowledge with their peers, families, and communities to identify and prevent hearing loss.
Students trained to become EHAs will gain essential knowledge in ear health to share with their fellow students, equipping them with the practical knowledge and confidence needed to help break the destructive cycles of ear disease.
At the heart of the program is peer-to-peer learning. Ear Foundation Australia will team up with local primary and secondary schools to train students as EHAs. Using interactive, age-appropriate tools, these young leaders then share vital ear health tips in their own words, passing knowledge outwards to classmates, and upwards to parents, Elders, and families. By making ear health a natural part of everyday school and community life, the program aims to stop ear disease from being seen as an inevitable part of growing up.

Early detection and peer encouragement keep kids connected to their learning, ensuring they hear well, stay engaged in the classroom, and grow into a generation of healthy, confident, and empowered leaders. Our train-the-trainer model empowers each successive generation of EHAs to thrive.
- Students choose a culturally appropriate name for their initiative to build local ownership within their school.
